چکیده

It is known that Jovian radio and high energy electron emissions are observed near Earth. The question we address in this study whether the quasi-periodic ~10 h ~40/15–20 min (QP-10 h, QP-40/15–20 min) energetic particle magnetic field periodicities by Ulysses during its distant encounter with Jupiter 2003 were also detectable as far Earth’s orbit. Surprisingly, found at end of extreme Halloween events, times a highly disturbed magnetosphere, inferred from strong bKOM Ulysses, connection Earth suggested simulation results interplanetary (IMF), ACE satellite observed, between least 25–27 November 2013 Lagrangian Point L1 (LPL1), all characteristic periodicities. In particular, using high-time resolution data (1/5 min), found, for first time, quasi-permanent electron, QP-10/5 QP-40 QP-15/20 variations LPL1 three days. These observations reasonably suggest low (~50–~300 keV) electrons reached environment; examined extend lowest limit spectrum 200 keV to ~50 keV. addition, an impressive series (≤0.05 MeV) ion bursts (EIBs) cross-field intensity gradients onset/decay phase events energy-dependent aligned anisotropy suggesting streaming anti-sunward direction their main phase. A comparison simultaneously obtained measurements Geotail upstream bow shock magnetosphere suggests EIBs inconsistent concept terrestrial origin. On contrary, indicate on was spatial effect caused ~10/5 approach large-scale sheet environment. source population forming sharp seems most probably ions accumulated space, although solar contribution possible. Based above results, it reasonable QP-10 due influence. Further research needed cause EIBs. This presents new which our view influence h/QP-40/QP-15/20 outer inner heliosphere 1 AU.

We introduce the E-correspondence principle for stochastic dynamic expectations models as a tool for comparative dynamics analysis. The principle is applicable to equilibria that are stable under least squares and closely related learning rules. With this technique it is possible to study, without explicit solving for the equilibrium, how properties of the equilibrium are affected by changes in...

Modeling the 20 November 2003 Ionosphere Storm with GRACE

The Local Area Augmentation System (LAAS) provides differential GPS corrections for Category I precision approach to aviation users within tens of kilometers of the LAAS Ground Facility (LGF). To ensure integrity, any circumstance that may lead to hazardously misleading information (HMI) being transmitted to the user must be identified. If the probability of the situation exceeds the allocated ...

In this model, which accounts for things on the largest length scale, the universe is approximated by a space of uniform density and pressure at each fixed time, and the expansion rate is determined by the cosmological scale factor R(t) that evolves according to the Einstein equations. Astronomical observations show that the galaxies are uniform on a scale of about one billion lightyears, and t...

Plasma properties from the multi-wavelength analysis of the November 1st 2003 CME/shock event

The analysis of the spectral properties and dynamic evolution of a CME/shock event observed on November 1st 2003 in white-light by the LASCO coronagraph and in the ultraviolet by the UVCS instrument operating aboard SOHO, has been performed to compute the properties of some important plasma parameters in the middle corona below about 2R ⊙. Simultaneous observations obtained with the MLSO/Mk4 wh...

Energetic Electrons in the Magnetosheath and Upstream of the Bow Shock

The characteristics and transport of >200 keV electrons upstream of Earth's bow shock and in the outer magnetosheath are studied using nearly 4 years of data from the California Institute of Technology Electron/Isotope Spectrometer aboard IMP 8. In the upstream region, elevated electron intensities ranging from near the background level -•0.1 (cm 2 s sr) -• up to -•100 (cm 2 s sr) -• are observ...
